�Ը�� University’s annual Veterans Day observance will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC programs.

�Ը�� to Honor Veterans on Nov. 9

�Ը�� University will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from �Ը�� President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the �Ը�� Veterans Club, will be the guest speaker.

All are invited to come and pay tribute to America’s veterans. A special invitation is extended to �Ը�� faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.

A reception in the Kent Student Center Kiva lobby will follow the brief program. In the event of inclement weather, the rain location will be the Kent Student Center Kiva.

At its June 6 meeting, the �Ը�� University Board of Trustees took action on the following items: Trustees Endorse FY 2013 University Budget That Supports Major Campus Improvements The Board approved a balanced educational and operating budget for �Ը�� University’s eight-campus system as it commended the university’s leadership for demonstrating sound and strategic management through difficult financial times.

College for Kids at �Ը�� Tuscarawas

The 22nd annual College for Kids program is being offered by �Ը�� University at Tuscarawas. This summer's sessions offer 46 fun and interesting youth enrichment classes for students who were in 1st through 8th grades during the 2011-2012 school year. Session I is offered June 18-22, and Session II takes place July 23-27. Each five-day session offers courses from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Lose Weight, Feel Good this Summer With Weight Watchers at Work

�Ը�� offers a year-round Weight Watchers at Work program to faculty, staff and students on all campuses and community locations. Earlier this year, Weight Watchers introduced a new monthly pass program that includes the Points Plus program and e-tools, to make losing weight easier while still enjoying many of the foods you like to eat. The new program allows members the flexibility and convenience to attend a Weight Watchers at Work meeting or a meeting in their community. Members can also download the Weight Watchers mobile application on their smart phones at no charge.

December Holiday Schedule Announced

Division of Human Resources Vice President Willis Walker announced last week that �Ը�� will operate on a holiday schedule in December. The holiday schedule will run from Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, through Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. During that time, all nonessential operations will be closed at all �Ը�� campuses. Normal business operations will resume with the first shift on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.

Adjustment to December 2025/January 2026 Closure Schedule

Dear �Ը�� University Faculty and Staff,

�Ը�� has made a minor revision to its winter closure schedule for the current year. The university will close as previously scheduled on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at 10:30 p.m., with offices now set to re-open on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

Thank you for being engaged this Open Enrollment season. Maybe you took a few minutes to just review your benefit plans or maybe there were important changes to make and you took the time and opportunity to do so. With that being said, we had over a 77% participation rate in Open Enrollment.

Over the next few weeks, the Benefits team will be finalizing the Open Enrollment process and completing tasks to ensure all updates are in place for a Jan. 1, 2026 effective date.
