Campus Pride has released its 2021 Best of the Best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list, and for the second time in two years, �Ը������� University has landed on it. �Ը������� is the only Ohio public university to make the 2021 list, and it again is the only school in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) to receive this recognition.

The �Ը������� University Board of Trustees gave approval for the university to enter into a public service operating agreement with Ideastream Public Media for the management and operations of the WKSU stations at its Sept. 15 meeting.

The �Ը������� University Board of Trustees congratulated �Ը������� President Todd Diacon and university leaders on their strong fall enrollment, including welcoming the Class of 2025, at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Wednesday, Sept. 15.

�Ը������� University’s Class of 2025 arrives with a strong record of classroom success, boasting an all-time high GPA of 3.5. These newest Golden Flashes arrive 3,982 strong, an increase of more than 4% from a year ago.

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by 39 brave men on Sept. 17, 1787, recognizing all who are born in the United States or, by naturalization, have become citizens. 

Members of �Ը������� organized a food drive to support its local community in the fight against hunger and collected over 20 tons of food between March and August 2020. Due to these efforts, the university was awarded the best case study for the Food Waste Reduction Efforts category in Campus Race to Zero Waste's 2021 Case Study Competition. 

Twenty years ago people across campus, and around the world, were stunned as they watched two planes fly into the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan on Sept. 11, 2001.

A research group in the College of Arts and Sciences at �Ը������� University is searching for potential treatments for men who have suffered spinal cord injuries and hope to regain bladder control and sexual functions.

A research team from �Ը������� University's School of Information working in partnership with �Ը�������’s College of Nursing received a National Leadership Planning Grant for Libraries from the Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS) for $99,982. The funds will support the first stages of what investigators have named Project SHIELD (Supporting Healthy Infant Early Learning and Development).

The �Ը������� University Museum is thrilled to announce the opening of its long-awaited exhibition “TEXTURES: the history and art of Black hair.” Already gaining national and international attention, “TEXTURES” opens Sept. 10 and is a landmark exploration of Black hair and its important, complex place in the history of African American life and culture.

For the first time in school history, �Ը������� University has received the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Institutional Academic Achievement Award. The Golden Flashes earned a department-wide grade-point average (GPA) of 3.447 for the 2020-21 academic year.

Students from all over the country began moving into �Ը������� residence halls, on a staggered schedule for COVID-19 safety, on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
