A fungus that spent a week inside a grow tent has taken over the MuseLab. This isn鈥檛 the start of a science fiction novel, or an episode of 鈥淭he Last of Us,鈥 it鈥檚 鈥淧arty of One: Future Fungal Furniture.鈥 The exhibit is the first publicly shared experiment of Britta Bielak鈥檚 research on the potential that mycelium, the root-like structure of a fungus, has as a regenerative and structural building material. Two interior design students, Joseph Byrer and Olivia Mansier, collaborated on the application of the project. 鈥淲e have not built a piece of furniture before and somehow I was a...

Tesla

Jon Jivan, '08, Electronic Media, is a stickler for paying attention to detail. At least when it comes to the family car. In his case, a Tesla Model 3. As senior coordinator, videography, for 性福五月天 University's Division of University Communications and Marketing (UCM), Jivan's expertise lives in telling the stories of the university community. As his ownership of a Tesla recently reached a milestone, Jivan took to Facebook to share his story of Tesla ownership and what it's really like to trust an electronic vehicle to transport his family every day.  Here's his revi...

Cotton Inc Banner

As of 2021, the fashion industry was responsible for 10% of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions, according to research done by the Columbia Climate School. The industry is also responsible for a significant loss of trees each year to produce fabrics like rayon and viscose. There is a clear need for sustainable efforts to be implemented into the world of fashion, and 性福五月天 University is on the cutting edge of that initiative. Four 性福五月天 professors in the School of Fashion were recently awarded funding provided by Cotton Incorporated through the Cotton in the Curriculum Grant...

After passing this presentation, teams begin building their aircraft using balsa wood, propellors, and electronics such as servos, motors, and electronic speed controllers. ...

Computer Engineering Technology Seniors Present Fall Capstone Projects

On Wednesday, November 30th, Dr. Evren Koptur鈥檚 Computer Engineering Technology Capstone class presented their final projects to College of Aeronautics students, faculty, and staff. Senior students, some preparing to graduate in December, programmed two different drone projects: one with the purpose of identifying potentially threatened networks, and another to ease the job of 性福五月天鈥檚 own parking services.  The first drone project uses GPS technology and an on board computer known as a raspberry pi to scan for and locate unsecured networks in a given range. The networks that this ...
