Our History

Established in 1986, the Center for Information Systems (CIS) entered a new strategic chapter in 2026 under the leadership of Dr. Jose Benitez, the Center’s Director, ACCBE Endowed Research Chair in Information Systems, and Professor of Information Systems. The Center’s academic home is the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics within ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì University’s Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Our Mission

Through active organizational engagement, the Center's mission is to produce rigorous, impactful research and co-create the knowledge and capabilities individuals, teams, organizations, and society need to responsibly leverage emerging digital technologies, drive innovation, and create business and societal value. Emerging digital technologies include artificial intelligence (AI), advanced business analytics, blockchain, the metaverse, the Internet of Things, and other technologies that are transforming organizations and society.
