Congresswoman Emilia Sykes recently toured 性福五月天 University's airport -- one of Ohio's busiest general aviation hubs and a critical training ground for the university's next generation of aeronautics and engineering leaders.
Sykes was joined by 性福五月天 University President Todd Diacon, Airport Manager David Poluga and Christina Bloebaum, Ph.D., dean of the College of Aeronautics and Engineering. Sykes walked through the facility that handles more than 72,500 flight operations annually.
The tour included stops at the airport's hangar and state-of-the-art indoor classrooms and flight simulators. Sykes told university leaders that investing in aviation infrastructure and training the next generation of engineers and pilots are critical to strengthening the economy of Ohio's 13th Congressional District.
Sykes serves as vice ranking member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, which has jurisdiction over all modes of transportation including aviation, maritime and waterborne transportation, highways, bridges and mass transit.
She also serves on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, which oversees civil aviation research and development. She is a member of the Congressional Aerospace Caucus.
