Nearly 10% of all �Ը������� University undergraduates are participating in the groundbreaking �Ը������� Student Life Study, providing the university with concrete information about what it’s like to be a modern-day college student.

�Ը������� University’s Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Digital Engineering Design Center within the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, positioning the university as a regional and national leader in digital engineering education, research and workforce development.

In her first year at MetroHealth's dentistry program, Bonillo Farias is participating in a partnership between MetroHealth and �Ը������� University that integrates public health education into clinical dental training. The collaboration was made possible by a federal grant awarded to MetroHealth to strengthen dental residents' public health skills.

Students and staff were permitted back inside the Integrated Sciences Building on Tuesday afternoon following a problem with a liquid nitrogen tank in a student lab that lasted about 90 minutes. 

Former students, colleagues and educators from well beyond �Ը������� University are remembering Professor Emeritus Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., for his transformative teaching and significant contributions.

Dr. Lisa Dannemiller, �Ը�������'s chief university physician, and Josh Perkins, Ph.D., �Ը�������'s associate vice president for student life and dean of students, participated in a news conference on Feb. 17 to provide an update on the student's condition following a confirmed case of Neisseria meningitidis.

Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., �Ը������� University Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the May 4, 1970, campus shootings and later worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at his home in Maine. He was 88.  

First-year student Johan Kristoff will be among nine �Ը������� University students who will embark on a groundbreaking spring break journey to Florence, Italy, marking the first international experience designed specifically for students to discover their academic path. 

As demand for behavioral health professionals continues to rise across Ohio and the nation, �Ը������� University is preparing graduates to not just enter the field right away, but to advance, lead and make a lasting impact in their communities. For three �Ը������� alumni — Cassandra Galloway, Victoria Giegerich and Jason Joyce — their paths may differ slightly, but their stories illustrate how �Ը������� connects education to real-world outcomes.

�Ը�������'s Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration included a panel discussion, “Keeping Joy, Faith and ‘The Dream’ Alive in Uncertain Times,” which offered thoughtful perspectives on hope, purpose and progress.

When Matilde Carboncini was walking through the streets of Florence, Italy, the summer before starting college, she stumbled upon something unexpected.

�Ը������� University campuses reopened Tuesday with classes resuming at noon following a full closure Monday due to heavy snowfall from a major winter storm that blasted across Ohio and much of the eastern United States.

A Professor in the �Ը�������'s School of Teaching, Leadership, and Curriculum Studies was recognized as the 2026 Outstanding Science Educator of the Year.

Measles cases are increasing nationwide, including confirmed cases at several college campuses. While �Ը������� has not reported any cases, understanding this highly contagious disease can help our campus community stay informed and protected.

The university will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 29 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
