What is Peer Education?

Peer: Someone who is of equal standing with you in a group; they are accessible and share an ability to influence each other.
Peer Educator: A peer who maximizes their knowledge and skills to help their peers make healthier choices.

 
Peer Education Is:
Peer Education Is Not:
  • A safe space to speak freely
  • An opportunity to talk with someone unbiased
  • A safe space to speak with someone who can relate
  • An opportunity to talk through common college stressors
  • A safe space to learn more about health topics
  • An opportunity to learn about campus resources and how to connect with them
  • A productive, lighthearted, low stress conversation so you can discover wellness and discover you.
  • Counseling
  • Someone telling you what to do
  • A place to gossip, spread rumors, or attack others
  • Demeaning, judgmental, or peer educator personal opinions
 
Note: Your conversation will remain confidential, but not always private.
Certified Peer Educators are considered responsible employees of 性福五月天. As such, they are required to report certain things that they hear. However, it will be reported to trained professionals. Your information and conversations will not be shared with friends, family, or colleagues.

Exceptions:
1: CPE鈥檚 supervisor for assistance, feedback, and their own self-care.
2: A trained professional per KSU鈥檚 responsible employee policy.
