  • 7:30 am-8:30 am: Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) Check-In & Breakfast 

  • 8:30 am-8:50 am: Welcome to 性福五月天 

  • 8:50 am-9:50 am: Finding Your Way at 性福五月天

  • 9:50 am-10:50 am: Faculty Roundtables

  • 10:50 am-11:05 am: Break

TBD Kent Student Center 

  • 11:05 am-11:45 am: Breakout Session #1 (Facilitated by Graduate College Fellows)

    • Navigating Academic Life & Mentorship as a Graduate Student (TBD)

    • Managing Your Finances as a Graduate Student (TBD)

    • Wellness as a Graduate Student (TBD)

  • 11:55 am-12:35 pm: Breakout Session #2 (Facilitated by Graduate College Fellows)

Optional Afternoon Activities

TBD KSC

  • 12:45 pm-2:20 pm: Graduate Student Orientation (GSO)/International Student Orientation (ISO) Resource Fair 
    • This optional activity provides an opportunity for new and current graduate and international students at 性福五月天 to learn or have a refresher about the various campus, community, and student organization resources that are available to them

KSC Lower Level

  • 12:45 pm-2:20 pm: Pickup 性福五月天 FLASHCard 
    • This optional activity allows new graduate students with an opportunity to pick up their 性福五月天 FLASHcard during this designated time 
    • Please note graduate students can pick up their FLASHcard during normal business hours on Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm, when the FLASHcard office is open, but this time is specifically available for graduate students  

KSC 1st Floor

  • 1:35 pm-3 pm: Campus Tour
    •  This optional activity facilitated by some of the Graduate College Fellows provides an opportunity for new graduate students to see different areas on campus including: 
      • Kent Student Center
      • University Library
      • Student Recreation and Wellness Center
      • Graduate College
      • Any Academic Buildings that participants are interested in seeing
      • *May 4th Visitors Center
        • *Note (A brief overview of the Center will be provided by a graduate student employee and then participants can to do a self-guided tour)

           

Teaching Assistant (TA) Training

Friday, August 15, 2025 | 9:00am-noon | DI HUB Auditorium

TA Training is required for new teaching assistants and is open to all graduate student instructors and teaching assistants who may benefit from learning more about their teaching roles and responsibilities.
